When silicon label meets waterproof fabrics

2024-06-05

See if you are experiencing any of the following problems:

1. Poor firmness

Poor firmness means that the silicone printed on the fabric has no adhesion, and it is easy to be detached in pieces or the whole piece comes off after washing.The main reason is that special fabrics do not use adhesive to print silicone directly.

Common fabrics include poisoned fabrics, waterproof fabrics, nylon fabrics, PU and PVC leather.

Tips: When printing on special fabrics, you can use adhesive to strengthen the firmness.

2.Silicone non-drying

Silicone non-drying refers to the silicone printed on the fabric does not cure.

The main reasons are:

1) No curing agent or too much curing agent;

2) adding too much color paste, more than the proportion;

3) Tablet glue is oil-based;

4) Silicone poisoning.

Tips: According to the above reasons targeted to improve the printing process.

3.Silicone poisoning

Silicone poisoning refers to the chemical reaction between some materials in the fabric and the silicone, which leads to the situation that the silicone can not be baked dry after printing, it is difficult to bake dry, and the firmness is not good.

Common poisoning fabrics:

1) Laminating fabric, there is glue in the middle layer of laminating fabric, and the glue reacts with silicone;

2) Poorly dyed fabrics, usually easy to lose color, the dyes of such fabrics will react with the silicone;

3) Elasticized webbing, the rubber band in the elasticized webbing will react with the silicone.

Tips:

1) In case of mild poisoning, use reinforced type 3 printing silica gel as the base, and then use ordinary silica gel for coloring and covering;

2) In case of severe poisoning, use reinforced type 3 printing silica gel and adhesive as base, then use reinforced type 3 silica gel for coloring.

4.bubble pockmarks

The causes of bubble pockmarks generally include:

1) When printing, the silicone is too thick, the printing screen is too thick, more glue at one time, the baking temperature is too high, baking too quickly will lead to the production of bubbles;

2) Uneven strength during printing, baking without leveling during priming, baking at too high a temperature may cause pockmarks.

Tips:

1) After covering the surface, leave 10 minutes to defoam, leveling, and then bake dry can reduce the generation of air bubbles. If the defoaming time is not enough, bumps will appear on the surface.

2) Try to keep even strength when printing, and print flat when priming before baking.
